I'm installing an MSI X99S Gaming 7 mobo and it has a connector called "JAUD1: Front Panel Audio Connector" which further says, "This connector allows you to connect the front audio panel located on your computer case. This connector is compliant with the Intel Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design Guide.

My case on the other hand has a cable with two ends on it, both keyed the same but one is labelled "AC'97" and the other "HD Audio."

Anyone know which one I should use, if either of those are compatible?

Solution
The JAUD1 connectors supports both AC97 and HD Audio connectors.
You can use either of em, if one doesn't work(not recognized in the UEFI) then use the other one.
I've always used HD Audio and it always worked.

Okay, cool. Just didn't want to screw something up since the pinouts for the AC'97 and HD Audio connectors were different. I hooked up the HD Audio connector, but I'll have to wait until Friday for my RAM to arrive to test it out. Thanks for your response!
