RAM Usage Increased When I Upgraded My RAM from 4GB to 8GB

I'm using windows 7 home premium 64-bit with windows 7 basic scheme. I'm on idle and pretty much all of unnecessary applications are closed. I'm looking the RAM usage on windows task manager. Well before 2.5GB it uses about 2.25GB on idle. So what's up with the additional .25GB?

Some windows processes load up after some time your PC boots up, also windows caches some data on the RAM after you use them, hence the RAM usage gets higher with time. If you want to clean up some RAM safely, use a program called jetcleaner.
Also try enabling the default windows aero theme and check the RAM usage. Don't know why, but some PCs tend to use more RAM if the basic theme is used.
