hello , i have and have had an AMD A8 5500 APu for about 2 years now .. .. i recently downloaded HWmonitor .. and it says its running at 87 - 90 *C .. and the cores are anywhere between 24 and 36 W and 18 - 27 A ... any ideas why the numbers are so high ? .. also i have the stock cooler ,and there is a bit of dust on the aluminium heat sink .

Solution
Well if you're using stock and there is dust than you should think of getting the dusk off the heatsink. If you don't have thermal paste to remove the heatsink and clean then you use compressed air to get the dust out of the heatsink and into the case. Than you can lightly vaccum or use compressed air to get the dust out of the case. The best would be to remove heatsink, clean, repaste, install again. If that's not enough you will need an aftermarket heatsink.

One thing is that AMD temps aren't so accurate anymore. Try getting AMD overdrive and tell me what the Thermal margin for the APU is.
