Hi guys,

I'm new here so not sure if i came to the right spot for asking such a question. Below are my specs :

CPU : i5-4670K [ OC : 4.2Ghz | Stock Cooler ]
MOBO : Asus Z87-Pro
RAM : G.Skill RipjawX CL9 1600Mhz 2x8gb [OC : 2133Mhz]
GPU : Palit GTX 970 Jetstream
HDD : WD Caviar Blue 500GB [5 Years Old HDD migrated from old rig]
PSU : Seasonic M12II 620W [5 Years Old PSU migrated from old rig]

For some reasons, I'm unable to achieve above anything above 120FPS in garrisons on ultra settings, didnt try any lower. During the 40man outdoor boss raids, i'm only able to achieve 60ish fps.

My friend who is running on i5-4690 non-OC and a 8GB ram with GTX 680 is able to achieve consistent 100ish fps. 160ish in garrions, 100ish in raids. ultra settings.

I do get a grey screen once in awhile. [Screen turns entirely grey, while everything still running, including ventrilo and teamspeak.]

I'm guessing the problem lies with my PSU being too old to support the system and also the old HDD.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks!!

Cpu is the number 1 thing that determines fps in mmo's. An SSD will be a delight with loading etc but wont have any affect with fps numbers.

@ 4.2 with stock cooler, i know its possible but keep an eye on the temps, it might be throttling.

well im not 100% sure but something like 90c before throttling occurs. Try google safe temps and if your within that then i wouldn't think its a heat issue.

Other things you can try is looking in task manager system resources to see if anything is using the cpu constantly, even if low percentage and google the process to understand it.
