TLDR: Finished building my computer, gpu's HDMI and DVI gives no signal, MB's DVI gives no signal, only the VGA works

GIGABYTE z97 Gaming3
gigabyte gtx970 windforce 3x OC

So i just finished building my computer, and there was no signal on my monitor, with hdmi cable, i tried both dvi, nothing working. Unplugged the gpu, and tried the DVI from the motherboard, not working.. Then I connected a vga cable and it works fine..

Waiting for my windows install to finish then i'll probably try and download new drivers for the MB, but can it really be the issue, shouldnt a motherboard support the DVI it has built in, from start ?

Thank you

I could be wrong but i think your monitor is still on analog mode, if it is, it wont display anything from HDMI or DVI, thus displaying from VGA because it is analog. The link to the manual on page 21 will explain how to switch it over to digital.

Monitors can be tricky if have two different input types and can catch people out. I hope its this because it only means either the gpu is not powered properly or faulty or motherboard is faulty.

Its a bit of a coincidence that VGA works with your GPU while HDMI and DVI don't. I have a monitor that has both analog and digital inputs and will only accept one or the other. You haven't answered if that was the case with you. What monitor do you have?

ethernet issue is solved, but the DVI port in the motherboard is still not working, and neither hdmi or dvi is working from the gpu

The vga is on the motherboard, sorry for my bad english.

My monitor accepts VGA and HDMI, i use a HDMI > DVI cable to try the dvi ports

ports on
MB: VGA - Working | DVI - Not working
GPU: DVI - Not working | HDMI - Not working
