Hello,

I have just my first computer and I was wondering if I can get some help with heatsinks.

Here are the specs:
Case: Thor V2
GPU: ASUS GTX 770 2gb
CPU: Intel I7-4790K
PSU: Rosewill CAPSTONE-1000-M Continuous 1000W
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 16GB
Heatsink: the one that came with CPU

But the CPU temp while playing averages around 75c but has top at 99 for 1 second. I was wondering wath I can do yo get it lower. I was thinking about getting a H100i water cooler, but I read you need to mod the case on on one website than I read that you don't on another. I was wondering if this would require modding and if so what are some other cooling fans options to bring down the temp with out modding the case. Thank you for
your time. Would a H100i work better or a H55 120mm?

EDIT: Far Cry 4 makes it average around 80 to 86c

Solution
You don't need to mod the case. Some people have had issues with the installation but I think it's just because they wanted to fit it way in back. If you bring it a little forward then it fits flawlessly.
