I was wondering about that is there a difference between getting the i5's or i7's? also im willing to spend up to $1700 so hmm maybe more ram as 8gb just won't do it for me and I was also looking at maybe processors that ran at 4.0GHz

The i7 has identical gaming performane to the i5, except it has hyper threading, a feature you'll never use unless you render videos and images.
