EVGA 980 Doesn't fit case?

Hi, so the 980 is taking up two slots when I try to install it into my Phantom 530. Do I need to remove one of the bars or should it fit evenly between the bar on the back of the case?

what bars are you referring to?

you will need to remove 2 of the pci slot covers.

as an example the 2nd and 3rd covers from the top.

or did you mean something else?

It doesn't look like it fits correctly between the bars in the knockouts on the back of the case. Unsure if this is something I can work around or not since this is my first build. Want to know if there's something I'm doing wrong before I ruin the build.

Take out two of the black "bars" covering access to the back:

The card is a dual slot. You case can fit it, though.

I fixed it by not being a complete and utter idiot( don't really want to say what was the problem) Sorry for the trouble guys first build and things have been pretty rough with it.

Once you get it up and running, you'll be happy. I know brand new shinny parts can make people a bit overly-cautious, but remember high-end parts like the one you have are generally pretty durable and won't break if you don't force things.
