Opinions on upgrade of system from 2 GTX 580 in SLI to GTX 980 either alone or 2 in SLI. I am having some difficulty running Far Cry 4; I am currently having to use lower graphics settings. Another cheaper option, according to December graphics review, is 2 GTX 970's.
Machine is i7 3930k, Asus Rampage IV extreme, tons of Corsair high end DD3, SD boot drive and magnetic storage, 1200 watt power supply. I am currently using a 1980p monitor at 27 inches. I am considering upgrading to a 4k, but not at the expense of good gaming graphics.
Another question along the same lines...Do I need to update the entire system, such as new processor and RAM?
I would appreciate any thoughts...
