What settings should I use with my Sound Blaster Z card and Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers?
I built a new system and upgraded to the Sound Blaster Z card. I noticed that the bass was a little more pronounced coming out of my subwoofer than on my last system (X-Fi). For instance, when I play WoW and select an object, I get a thumping sound. Now that sound is very loud with the Z card. I've played around with the Speak Setup software and I found that if I change it from Stereo to Stereo Direct that noise goes away, but it sounds like I get no bass now from my subwoofer. It goes from one extreme to the other. Sound is my weak point and I need some help. I am hoping that since SB Z and Klipsch are generally popular items that someone out there can answer this post.
Note, as per the SB instructions, I hooked the speakers up to my middle jack, not the headphone jack. The middle jack didn't work at first. I needed to run the Speaker Setup software. Then they worked... just not as intended.
