Hi!

Recently the motherboard on my Lenovo Y510P got damaged due to liquid spillage. The part needs replacement and I contacted Lenovo for help however they can't supply the part. I tried looking at various websites with no success. Could you please help me with a suggestion? Is there a motherboard from an older Lenovo model that would fit? Thanks

Yeah most of the time, for models no longer made, they'll only have them available in some counties (mostly the states) so if Lenovo UK is out, they will probably stay out. Try looking around at used computer stores in the UK or online that can ship there and try your luck. Also look for repo/auction places or even the want ads. Unfortunately due to the nature of laptops you really cant just pop in any ol' regular motherboard.

Oh and for Ebay, try .com or .ca and see if they ship to the UK. Ya never know.

Your best bet is to find on craigslist or ebay (or Kijiji if you're canadian) and try to get a y510 with a busted screen that someone sells on their for part/cheap. While Lenovo probably could fix it, it would require sending it to them and probably a $400+ repair bill with labour. Same thing with trying to bring it into a computer repair place as well.

Thanks for the answer. I live in the UK, and tried ebay with no success. I also tried the computer repair place but they just couldn't get the part delivered.
