Hello all I recently built a gaming computer with 2 SLI GTX 980s, Intel Core i7-980X, 32 GB ram,
MSI z97 MB, Rosewill Hercules 1600w, and Western Digital HDD 4 TB

Now everything runs fine, GPU is pretty quiet and everything but I constantly am hearing my Hard drive even when playing with the sound turned up. It's annoying because I tried another HDD and it makes the same clicking noise and the fan noise is exceptionally loud. Is there anyway I can muffle this sound from my hard drive or is it just normal?

Hi there JoeC1989,

So you say that both HDDs are making clicking sounds? If this is the case, you should make sure that the sound is coming from the HDDs(not from some cables touching any other component, loose screws, etc). You can do so by just opening the case of the computer. If the clicking sound is coming from the HDD, you should back up the data stored on it as soon as possible. It will also not hurt to attach the drive to another system. In this way you will be sure whether the problem is related to the HDD or to your system.
Also, you can test the WD drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=WYm7Yp
Regarding the fan noise, you can just measure the temperature with some sort of...

Regarding the fan noise, you can just measure the temperature with some sort of software.
