[First i haven't downloaded anything other than the amd drivers in the past few weeks.]

So yesterday before school i was downloading an amd catalyst update but shortly after i had to leave so i pressed cancel on the update. waited for it to say it has been cancelled. I then closed the updater and shut down my computer. I come back today to start My computer and a bunch of issues arise for no apparent reason. I brushed it off as a glitch and went to download the update i cancelled before. After i downloaded that I restarted my computer. When it boots up again same issues arise. I restarted it once more but instead of getting the normal boot menu it just has a bunch of white words on a black screen. Saying some corrupted files were found and it was scanning my system. Did this for about 5-10 minutes. I then try to switch from my gpu to my motherboard however this does not work at all. [with my gpu I use vga to DVI, therefore i used a VGA After discovering The VGA doesn't work i plugged in a an hdmi cord to see if it would work with the integrated graphics. But alas it didn't. Still a black screen, I then switch back to my graphics card. AMD catalyst also does not recognize that I have an amd device running however it is still the graphics i am using, I also went to amds website to auto check for updates but it said My GPU driver is up to date. Windows also lag now when i move them around. Last issues I can think of is that aero does not work anymore and when i try to troubleshoot why it says an error occurred preventing it from updating.

Start over.

Wipe the drive and reinstall Windows using the standard VGA drivers. Then, do a full scandisk on the drive. Assuming that comes up good, then DL and install a program that will monitor and report the SMART status of the drives (Acronis makes a good free one - Acronis Drive Monitor).

From there, re-download and reinstall the AMD catalyst drivers. Go from there.

I'd try running malwarebytes an see if something sneeky snuck in.Or you could just use the amd disk your card came with uninstall all drivers an do a fresh install.Random pop ups ect says something got installed in there.I use ccleaner alot after malwarebytes id use that go under tools for uninstal an look for the date that you tried to download and see if there's something in there on that date you didnt install on purpose. good luck hope this helps oh after thought just google malwarebytes its free for a bit along with ccleaner an i've found they do help Alot!!!
