I am absolutely stumped trying to figure this out. I have FiOS Quantum, 75/35 and it works great wired to my desktop, full speed. On my older Dell with an Asus dongle 802.11n adapter I get 63/35, nice. On my HP Envy, 64bit Win 7, Broadcom 4313GN 802.11n I get 1-2/20. WTF? I thought it was the router until my old laptop tested good. I really need some help with this.

1. WiFi performance is very dependent on environment. What does that slow one get when right next to the router? If still slow, maybe the drivers for it.

2. Some FiOS ActionTec routers are capped at 20/20 for the wifi. Mine is. And verified by the Verizon installer guy a few months ago.
I've been thinking of changing to their better one, but my WiFi use is so limited that it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for the quick response. I am sitting 5 feet in front of my router. Like I said my other laptop sitting right here too gets 63/35 so its not the router. I could understand if it was 5/5 or even 1/1 but 1/20? My download should always be faster than my upload. There has to be something wrong either software or hardware but i don't know what else to check.

ok so new router from Verizon, using the Linksys AE1000 dongle adapter with fresh drivers, still won't go over 6/20 while the pld laptop with same dongle on new router goes 54/34.

It has to be something software related... any ideas where to check? 64bit Win7 Home premium, latest Chrome browser.
