CPU: fx-9590 with H-100
Motherboard: sabertooth 990fx r2.0 with bios 2501
GPU: XFX 295x2
Ram:G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3 1600
POWER Supply:AX1200i
SSD: samsung 840 pro 120 GB
HDD: 600GB velociraptor
case: cm Storm trooper

I started off with reformatting my PC using Secure erase with the Samsung SSD, and reformatted the HDD. Before installing windows 7 64bit I re-flashed my bios with 2501. I proceeded with installing windows 7, all the drivers for the motherboard, all windows updates, Logged on to the AMD website and tried to "fresh" install the Omega driver and my computer instantly started "freezing" and would not "un freeze". I un-installed the driver and installed the supplied xfx driver but the system would continue to freeze. After messing with the drivers for a bit, I decided to Reformate everything and re-downloaded all the drivers and started with the XFX driver supplied with the card. Once I did that everything worked great but I am unable to install an updated driver.

I have already un-installed that driver and it was not the issue. I started looking in the bios and I saw that the auto feature for OC was set to auto and it was changing my voltage for the CPU and RAM. I reset the bios to defaults and I was able to work with the drivers a little bit more. 14.12 still does not work however I was able to get the 14.11 beta driver to install. After I got all the installs completed I tried to run 3dmark and the computer instantly froze once again. Could it be a PSU issue or possible something with the GPU?

I cannot get the Omega driver to work on that PC. After the install it just says the typical amd driver not found or not working properly. I have swept the system clean of all amd drivers before the install. It freezes on anything requiring a load including windows indexing. (I know its not a valid benchmark I'm just saying.)

ok tonight I messed with my setup a bit I will list everything I did below

Re-flashed bios with the newest bios for my motherboard-froze
went back to the previous bios available-froze

uninstalled the 14.11 beta driver and then used driver sweeper to clear all amd files. After a reboot I installed the Omega driver and still froze.
Uninstalled the omega driver and used driver sweeper then installed 14.9 and still froze.

Bios had my ram listed at 1600 and my CPU at 4.7. I have not overclocked anything and I reset all defaults in the bios. All my temps are good. Im starting to wonder if it could be my power supply or possibly GPU.

not enough power supplied to the component can lead to system freeze. to be exact i was looking at your CPU. that monster is rated at 220w while other regular CPU was rated around 130w at most. even on asus mobo page mention this:

Due to the high TDP, please be noted there are limitations while using this CPU(i.e. special thermal required..)

what exactly they mean special thermal required? anyway you could try down clock you CPU and see what happen. and upon looking around i found this thread:

I swapped motherboards and put all my component s on a asus m5a99fx motherboard and it works perfectly fine. So I will just use that. I put the 8350 and two 7870's on the sabortooth motherboard with a tx 850 psu and it works perfectly fine. So I have no idea, I can only assume the sabortooth mb does not like the 9590...classic romance
