Putting OS on SSD, but making it a secondary drive

So last year I built a PC, and wanted to put my OS on my new SSD as often recommended. I did so and it made my SSD my primary drive, I wouldve like for my 1TB HDD to be the primary storage vs the 128GB SSD, but I can't find anyway to do this. Is the OS drive just always the primary drive? This means that sometimes applications can only be installed to the SSD and causes it to fill up SSD unintentionally. For future reference.

Yes, the OS drive is the primary drive. Most programs you can install on your second drive just by telling it where to install to. I've only had a couple programs and 1 game that had to be installed on the primary drive to function.

EDIT: most of the programs that don't let you choose are really small utilities like desk pins. Any large program should give you the option.

Well, if you want to get technical, an Operating System can be quite easy to install and use on a secondary drive. You just get into the bios menu while your computer is starting and select which drive to load first. It may seem a little extensive to do each time you want to switch, but it's still a way to do it.
