Hello there ,after day i started feeling this so called coil whine.Never had it in gpu before so got few questions(palit gtx 970 jetstream).Just played CS GO with vsinc off i heard it was not too load but still i can hear it when take headset off .Now i turned vsinc on and stopped hearing it can that be ?Should i RMA card or it just because running on high frame rate doing that ?Is card damaged or this will go away with time or will damage me gpu ?Sound doesn't bother me i'm just afraid that gpu is damaged or will be damaged in future sorry for all questions but kinda new to this.Thank you for your time.

Just called company i got it from.Told me that coil noise in common and they get a lot of calls about it.Boys were nice offered me to send it to palit service but most likely it won't be replace if works normally, coil noise doesn't count. Also told me that coil noise doesn't damage card or damage it overtime that's all i need to know will put case somewhere i can't hear it :D .And weirdly i don't get coil noise on frame rate locked at 60.Anyway thanks for your time mate.

You don't get coil whine at 60 FPS because it isnot only caused by load, but also by FPS. I know that higher frame rates (200-300) will cause coil whine, such as running older games on your new hardware.

I have Palits Jetstream 970 and have heard about this coil whine. To date have never had it in any card. This is now my third Palet card. And if I did get it. I would be sending it back as faulty. I paid £264 including postage for mine. And would expect a perfect card, No less
I do have to say mine is a total beast. You may find, just a very slight change to voltage may sort it

They Overclock very well
+139mhz to 1266mhz core, Boost 1536mhz
+615mhz to 4120mhz/8240mhz memory

I also have a Palit GTX 970, and I have had no coil whine.

I know guys i know talked to them try ed to force it but point being is not up to them.Evan if i send it for faulty if service decide that coil whine is not issue ill get same card and i get filling ill get same card .I'm not bothered by sound since its gone after frame rate lock if it comes back ill probably take me chance and return it see what happens but a lot ppl RMA there cards get exactly same because coil whine is common issue does not damage or damage over time card that's what there telling me at least. And I'm pretty sure they will send me same card.Evan if u are not gonna settle for less in the end its all about is that damaging ur card or not that's how they decide if u can have replacement .And like i said they offered me to send to palit service and its on there hands. Ill change voltage see if it helps but card is a beast i agree :) .Thank you for your time guys .
