Hey Guys, my spare laptop has a Geforce Go 7300 and when i connect a monitor that supports 1920x1080P it only gives me the the resolution from laptop which is 1280x1024

Solution
The 7300 was optimized for vista. it doesn't have very good support for XP so some stuff is bugged and simply won't perform the same as it would on vista. The driver developers just didn't spend that much time optimizing the 7000 series cards for XP. They most likely just never bothered adding that XP support function to that, and they probably never will because just like a 2 or 3 year old webcam they don't care anymore, they made all of the money that they are gonna make on that product already so why produce more drivers while having to pay the people who make it a bunch of money.

Try using the AMD panel to change resolution. If you are using VGA, you can set the maximum reported resolution to 1920x1080 in order for you to be able to use it in the Desktop Properties in the AMD panel.

Does nvidia give you the option to set a custom resolution? In Change Resolution> Customize> Create custom resolution.

Also if you use a VGA connector you will be limited to 1360x768 Max from your laptop. Hdmi might work but I'm sure everything will be scaled horribly and 720p will look the best
