Hey, I recently did a secure erase of my SSD to re-install windows. However it now does not show up on the list of drives.

When I open disk-manager and try to create a new volume, I get an error message saying the disk-management window is not up to date, and to refresh (Which of course I've tried.)

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
Well I would suspect either your process is in error, or there is a failure in the SSD now / computer it in being installed in. I would use your COmputer B to install the SSD only, and try to install Windows just to see if it installs or not.

The latter part of your answer suggest you do not understand the question, and are NOT IN BIOS looking for the drive.

We are providing INTERNAL steps, this will NOT work with a drive connected via USB:

Please confirm you :
1) Turn on PC
2) IMMEDIATE when you see the makers logo / text (i.e. SAMSUNG, DELL, etc. NOT MICROSOFT) hit the F2, F3 or whatever key it says 'to access BIOS.
3) If you SEE the WINDOWS logo, go back to STEP 1 and try again.
4) Enter the TEXT BASED BIOS, look for the EVO listed, if it is not listed, shut down the computer, open computer and reseat the cables to the EVO and repeat from step 1
5) IF EVO is still not listed, try connecting EVO to another computer to see if you can see it.
6) If still not visible via BIOS on two machines most likely the drive is toast, Last test would be to use a SATA to USB cable and plug the drive into the USB port and see if it display via BIOS then (it will list IF it is working). If still not working see if that one is still under warranty and go to Samsung to follow thier process for a RMA request.

Finished, but still cannot create a partition/activate it in disk manager. Could it be a problem with the disk manager program itself? is there another I can use?
Thanks so far.

NO you do NOT create a partition or use Disk Manager. Just do as I said to do. You run the DBAn in the computer your INSTALLING this drive into (say computer A) not the one your responding to here on (computer B). Then insert the Windows CD in the computer A, turn it on, and it will see there is a drive to format and will do the work all on its own.

Hrm, it still can't find the drive. If i plug in the HDD I am using to run windows at the moment, it shows up, but only that. If it's unplugged the installer can't find any drives at all.

Okay step back here. What your doing does NOT need Windows to be installed, in fact it gets in the way...

We need to just focus on the hardware here to be 'there' for Windows to see. Make sure your BIOS is set to AHCI and try again. the drive WAS wiped with a DBAN CD and then your rebooting to the Windows Install CD right?

LAst question would be this Windows is NOT from a OEM (Dell, Gateway, etc.) right? Becuase it will NOT work on ANY other PC EXCEPT the one it was sold with.

The drive was wiped with a dban CD yes, there were a number of commands - I chose the one which simply read something about wiping all connected drives. The BIOS were set to AHCI, HOWEVER the SSD was labelled as a HDD. I've changed this, but it didn't help.
As for the CD, I am RE-installing windows. I've used it successfully on this drive before, and I decided to do a fresh install because something was slowing my SSD down.

I dontt have a second computer per say, only a second drive with Windows. As a test I am installing Windows fresh on the second HDD. It is currently at completing installation which bodes well. The SSD only became 'invisible' after the secure erase from Samsung magician, so I don't see how it could be broken. Oh well, you put this much time into helping me so I will give you best answer. One thing I noticed: even after the Drive wipe I still see Two windows options for boot, of course one of which doesn't work. This leads me. To believe the nuke didn't work properly?

No it is because your confusing Windows and the computer IF you have BOTH drives in the computer at the same time. You can ONLY HAVE ONE Windows installed, not TWO copies, both because the license will get hosed (and invalidate the other because it is suspected pirated copy) AND the OS itself sees the each other and 'fights' over WHO is the real Windows.
