hi, i hav a intel D915GLVG MOTHERBOARD and in my ignorant pursuit to make the comp fast i replaced the original processor with an intel pentium 4 630 from another old comp. now i find that this processor is not compatible with the motherboard. the present comp crashed once after my adventurous experiment n i had to get capacitors replaced i was previously using win xp now use win7 in which the cpu fan runs constantly above 4000 rpm, n my comp sometimes lags and sometimes restarts by itself asking me if i want to use win safe mode n also the comp lags sometimes and recently a 180gb hard disk i had added internally to the old 80 gb shows only 60 gb in the drive. is this al bcoz of the incompatiblity,OR is it bcos win7 is too tough to handle for my comp (ISPECS - 3GB RAM, 140 GB PRIMARY HARD DISK, PENTIUM4.STANDARD INTEL GRAPHICS ADAPTER (which i kno is outdated for aero themes))
what can i do now?

Solution
Given the probable damage due to you "my ignorant pursuit to make the comp fast " and save you MONEY and TIME, I would HIGHLY suggest you stop all your doing, just take $249, head down to Walmart and just buy a new laptop FOR GENERAL PURPOSES. The result will be a system with twice as much RAM, over 600GB of storage space, a much faster CPU, all under warranty than a 10 YEAR OLD PROCESSOR and hardware.
