So i recently bought a gtx 780 because my hd 7850 stopped displaying. Today my card arrived and has the same issue as the last saying "standard vga adapter". I've tried installing the drivers by nvidia and by asus' disc and neither worked. My old gpu (8800gts i think is what its called) worked fine and displayed. I also tried swapping the bios to have pci-e be the main display. What could be the problem?
specs:
mobo:880gm-le-fx
Cpu:fx-8350
Gpu:asus Gtx 780
ram:8gigs
psu:Corsair Builder Series CX 600

First think you should do is to upgrade all the drivers (bios, GPU, MOBA) and see if it does better. As you said your 7850 stopped displaying. Thats a strange issue. May be a slot problem. Is there another PCI E x16 slot where you can try to run the GPU to see if it runs better there?
