Low'ish FPS in WoW with GeForce GTX 970

Hello Hello!

Going to go ahead and mention that I'm new to building my own computer and everything so I'm sorry if I say anything wrong or incorrectly!

I play World of Warcraft mainly and I had a friend of mine help me build a new computer because I felt like I just needed an update in order to improve my FPS in capital cities as well as in raids (mainly for 20+ man).

Once we purchased all my parts and I got everything all setup on my new rig, I felt VERY underwhelmed with it's performance and I'm feeling like I must be missing something. On Ultra settings (with low shadows) I get a steady 60FPS in my Garrison or out and about where there are not many players. But as soon as I go to a capital city or raid environment I noticed I only get an average of 35-40 with drops as low as 27'ish. Yesterday in my raid I actually dropped to 18FPS when we pulled a boss but it climbed back to 30FPS once we got going - there were only 13 in our raid group.

I just am feeling like my old computer that I just replaced preformed just about as well as this new one is and it was about 2-3 years old and it wasn't anywhere near as expensive as this new one.

If anyone here has any recommendations or ideas I could try to spiff up my computers performance and fix these issues I'd really, really appreciate any suggestions.

WoW is heavily CPU-dependent on framerate, especially when there are a large number of objects on the screen such as in a crowded city or in a 20-man raid. The bottleneck for your performance is not your GPU but your CPU.

There is a new driver for January 22 from nvidia. I would try downloading that, i bet it would do the trick seen no more complaints since. I am getting same card in new cyberpowerpc in about a week so im hoping same as you .
