Hi, I'm looking at upgrading my current system, my Son has recently started Gaming, nothing to heavy, but our current set-up isn't up to much.

What I need to know is if it is just as easy as putting a Graphics Card in? (Currently running on integrated). And also specifically if this Graphics Card;

Is compatible with my current Motherboard/Processor;

I'm quite aware that this is quite an antiquated set-up, am I better to look at a Motherboard upgrade?

Also to add, I have a 350W PSU.

Thanks

That graphics card should be compatible with the motherboard and should give a nice boost to performance (that 350W psu should be just enough for it aswell, atleast if it's decent quality). I wouldn't expect too much from it though, but will atleast give a bit more life for that system. If you start looking for motherboard upgrade then you will need to buy a complete new system, since all those old parts are too old and are not compatible with todays parts. Best option would be to go for a complete new system, but you would be looking at spending between maybe 700-900$ atleast if building a good solid system.

I wouldn't expect amazing gaming from that CPU, but I think you suspect this. I would bet this GPU would fair alot better in games than your integraded graphics currently. It is also extremely low wattage which is helpful for a 350 watt psu. If you've found this card for under $50 I would recommend it.

If its closer to $65, I would instead recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125686

Either should be plenty for a descent gaming experience. Just adjust game video quality accordingly.
