Hello,

I installed a new 3tb HDD as my D:\ on my PC. Still using the same 500gb as my C:\

After installing the 3tb HDD, all games and benchmarks are running 5-10% slower

For example Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark scores have dropped from 860 to 829

And my min FPS in games seems to be much worse

Does anybody know what could be the cause of this?

I have reformateed and reinstalled everything several times.

When I switch back to one hard drive, performance goes back up

When I plug both hard drives in again, performance goes back down, no matter which is boot drive

I am so confused and frustrated for days, thanks for any help

My motherboard is an ASRock Z77 Pro4

I emailed the company explaining my issue, waiting on a response. I tried to navigate the driver downloads section of their website but it is very cryptic to me.

I agree, I think it is my SATA controller as a HDD shouldn't impact a benchmark that isn't accessing the HDD. Something about having multiple drives on the controller is causing a CPU load or something.

I have a intel I5 2500k so my CPU is plenty strong.

I do also notice that when running Unigine benchmark, whereas before GPU was hitting 99-100%, with multiple HDD attached my GPU is only hitting 95-97%, which indicates there might be an additional load on the CPU
