How to securely join two networks together over the Internet?

I currently have one server room at my house but I want to put another one at a different location. How would I securely join these servers together?. Both locations have their own fast Internet connections.

How do you join these two networks together such that every computer can see every other computer?

Thanks in advanced!

A site to site VPN essentially joins two remote LANs together, so all the IP addresses on both networks will be visible to each other as if they were all on the same network.

I can't speak for these custom control panels you have, but I can't see why there would be a problem. Access to the servers should work in exactly the same way from both sites, providing that all the servers are on the same domain. If each site has a different domain, then you need to implement trusted domains within Active Directory.
A site to site VPN is the most common approach, but there are two conditions.

1. Each site must have a router or firewall that supports site to site connectivity.
2. Each router or firewall must have a static IP address that's visible on the WAN (Internet).

A typical home broadband package won't include static WAN IP addresses. Your ISP may offer them, but probably at a price.

If you haven't already, you should also consider the security issues regarding public-facing IP addresses.

@bicycle_repair_man and @nimbhah_52 Im not so worried about the secure stand point my problem is I have multiple people connect the the servers through custom control panels. Would they still be able to access their data with having to connect to the VPN outside of the panel? Put it this way, how do companies such as Internap and Google do it? Thanks!

Do you have any manuals you can recommend to me on going about creating a site to site VPN?
