Hi I am currently working on my production machine for blender, I have a separate build machine, so the machine I am talking about will be for work and mainly animation rendering.

I have the following hardware in it

I7 - 4790 4.4ghz
32GB ram
2 x Asus strix 6GB GTX 780 non sli
Gigatyte GA-z97x
windows 7

I have managed to overclock card 1 to 1306mhz core clock using msi afterburner

card 2 however will only hit 575mhz

as blender does no do sli config I thought I could get both cards to run at the same clock speed therefore getting 2 cards to run at the 1306 clock speed?

Having come from just CPU rendering this is new and the machine will never see a game I just want pure power for rendering from both cards.

any help would really help

Much appreciated

G

Hi I am using Blender and it allows me to run two cards producing 2 render tiles ( more cards more render tiles), Sli Does not work in blender and slows down the process,

When I run a blender file benchmark card 1 shows core clock at 1306 with the overclock settings I have. Card 2 has the same settings applied (or Linked) but just sits at 575mhz, when watching the render, 1 tile is clearly faster than the other. so I know the card is under load as it is rendering just not as fast as card 1.

Hope this clears up what i am using it for.

Yes, that helps a lot. If you're running a benchmark, the second card should be running at full speed. Odd.

I'm really at a loss. Sorry, but I don't think I have an answer. If you switch the cards, does the second card run at full speed?
