Yesterday i build my first computer in a long time, it took quite a bit of work but i got it working.

CPU: AMD FX6300
MOBO: 970a-d3p
MEM: 2x4 GB Kingston HyperX 1600mhz
VIDEO: Sapphire 270x 2 GB DDR5
HDD: 1TB WD Blue
PSU: Sentey BRP500 500watts

Now here is the problem: i have it connected to a Panasonic HDTV through HDMI, i press the power button and i can see the mobo splash screen (it's zoomed in and i can't see the borders), and hear a beep (which i think it means everything is fine), but when i hit delete or F12 to enter the BIOS or the boot setup all i get it's a message from my TV saying "720p/50hz" and a cursor for a split second (which i can briefly move) and a black screen, sometimes i also get a piece of text that tells me to put a proper booting device and press a key, but nothing happens.

Things that i have tried but didn't work:

Try a DVI to HDMI connector.
Try a USB and a PS2 keyboard.
Crying and praying.

Can someone shed some light on the matter? Thanks in advance!

PS: in the building process i made a mistake, i connected a floppy connector to a SYS_FAN connector. After realizing the error i tried plugging the cpu fan into the SYS_FAN connector to see if it works and the fan doesn't start, could this have something to do with it?

Solution
The cpu fan should go in to cpu header not a sys fan header. The sys fan headers are probably for case fans not the cpu fan

Plug the CPU fan into the header at the top of the mobo

Also make sure you plug in the ATX 12v 8 pin connector and the 24 pin connector

To access bios on my gigabyte 990xa-UD3 I press either F9 or DEL key. Have you tried to F9 key? (might be far fetched)
Other then that, since you still have your warranty I would suggest contacting the store where you bought it from to see if they have a solution.
