SSD Size for OS's??

Hey all,

I have been searching for an answer here but could not find something concise for my question and was curious about the whole aged ssd recommendations. I know (I think...haha) that it used to be said that using an ssd for your OS and a separate hdd for storage would be ideal for bootup and whatnot and that is the path I had went down. However now with the prevalence of ssd development and price drops, it now seems not too far out of the picture for people to purchase 1tb ssd's if that is their desire.

Now my question is, if that recommendation still stands, in having a smaller sized ssd dedicated to an OS and use the larger ssd only for storage, or is it because the importance of that recommendation was the increase in speed and therefore it would be just as efficient using it for the whole enchilada (os + storage)?

Thanks everyone, enjoy the weekend.

Solution
Drive A - OS and applications
Drive B - all that other stuff

SSD, HDD, whichever.
Drive A, if SSD, should be no smaller than 120GB. Current prices point to a 250GB drive as an optimal price point.

1TB is still pretty expensive, and if you go by the above A+B, very large and wasted space.
