Is there gonna be a software update for samsung s7560 soon or ever?

Solution
If the last official update was 4.0.4 then there is no chance you will receive an update from Samsung. There were many versions released since then, then will not be going back to old hardware and giving updates. Your only option for a newer Android version will be to install a custom ROM.

And some custom ROM's don't allow much for overclocking, you often have to get a custom Kernel. XDA is your source for ROM's and Kernels for any Android phone.

It is not an ace2(7562) it is an trend(7560). I have already tried that. It half bricked it so I had to use samsung kies emergency firmware recovery. Though I tried this for about a year ago and I will not do it again.

Sorry did not realize difference between 7560/7562. Still there exist summer custom cyanogenmod roms for the 7560. If CyanogenMod is not acceptable to you then SOL. Buy a more supported device like the Google nexus brand. Sorry but that's just how things are. Once Samsung decides to not push updates for a model that is the end for official updates no telling if they will ever release more!

Btw maybe just symantics but No such thing as "half" brick. If it is bricked, generally the device is only good as a paper weight. Flashing incorrect firmware is not considered a brick. I occasionally have done it my self. No big deal. Few times I have had to resort to JTAG flash a bios chip directly. Still not a big deal, easily recovered.
A real brick is generally an unrecoverable failure.

Im not gonna do a custom recovery on it unless I'm sure to do it. Though i already have an iphone 5c and this samsung phone was my previous phone that sucked. I'm just gonna keep this phone as a back-up phone i case if my iphone 5c would screw up. I still hope they are gonna release a official update for the samsung 7560
