Hello I'm planning on building a new computer and these are the specs I'm planning on going for ill include the things i already have that ill be re-using in my new build.

Case: NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H100i
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
MOBO: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
Hard Drive 1: WD 1 TB 7200 RPM
Hard Drive 2: 500GB 7200 RPM (from current build)
SSD: 120GB (from current build)
Video card: Saphire amd r9 280 (from current build)
PSU: Corsair 750w (from current build)

As for ram i would like some suggestions because I'm uncertain as what to get 8gb or 16gb and what speeds should i go for with the new ram.

I would then get something like this:

Overclocking doesn't yield too much of a performance boost for the money spent on a K CPU and a liquid cooler. Instead, drop the overclocking and put the money towards something else.

16 GB will keep you running for at least the next 3-5 years. Plus, when being ~20 pounds more than the cheapest 8 GB kit, it's a steal.

The SSD is to RAID 0 or 1 with your existing drive. The 8 GB that's left over can be used with Intel's Smart Response technology to cache one of the drives.

The second 280 is to Crossfire with your existing card, and 750 watts should be able to handle the two of them perfectly fine.
