Graphics Card Upgrade for around $300 best for me?

My budget is roughly $300. I don't care what brand, I only care that I get the best performance for the game i play.

I play games such as the following:

  • Wargame Series (Graphically intense RTS strategy game)
    Arma III
    MMOs
    Skyrim
My current processor is: Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4GHz

Would my processor hold me back? Is a processor upgrade more important? If either is true, also link me an ideal processor to compliment the video card.

you can find r9-290s for as low as $240. the gtx770 should be less than that, and obviosly the gtx970 for $330 is by far the best choice for someone at the $300 budget.

you need to stretch your budget out a little and get the gtx970 or just get the r9-290 for a good deal.

Yeah you are right. I just like ASUS and that Sapphire card looks so fucking sexy XD

few dollars for a newer model, with newer tech and a bit faster and power efficient is no brainer for me, 30$ is well worth it, gtx770 and gtx970 with 30$ or 50$ difference, the decision is obvious!
