I know that USB 3.0 flashdrive is faster than USB 2.0 flashdrive.

When does the improved i/o really matter? I can imagine that a video file might work better but in the case of data isn't it just a matter of being patient while the files are transferred?

If I am building a USB backup and recovery drive does it matter? I know that preparing a backup and recovery drive is slow to begin with so is it worth spending the extra money on a USB 3.0 stick?

Is the leftover space on a bootable USB stick usable after it becomes bootable. This is in the context of using a 64gb drive where only 33gb is used by the bootable recovery drive.

Thanks

If you are just using it as a backup/recovery there is no point but if you transfer files a lot it helps. For example I wanted to transfer a few movies with my usb 2.0 flash drive and it took almost 30 min so a usb 3.0 can help a lot there
