So I have a pc with the specs below and with a gtx 770 right now, and I have decided to buy a new graphics card, the gtx 980, but I see that you can buy a gtx 980 from EVGA,MSI,ASUS...
And since I don't have a lot of knowledge of pc parts, I don't really know which one is the best.
What I want is the card with the best performance and that is overclockable (but just normal overclocks not extreme ones) and that also has good temperatures, I don't care about the price.
Please someone tell me the difference between the cards and which is the best.

Thank you

PC specs (without video card)

processor: i7 4770k 3.7 Ghz
cooler: cooler master hyper 212 evo
Ram: 16 gb 1330 mhz
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
1 Gb harddrive
and windows 7 pro as operating system

Get a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 G1. It's one of the best for OCing and it has one of the best cooling systems. I would say you to go for it. :D

Updated:
Or a GTX 970 is itself sufficient for gaming as the GTX 980 is so much costlier but yet it gives only about 10-15% better performance.
Again the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 is the better choice.

If I'm not mistaken, each of those companies flagship 980 card is overclockable. The differences are small, but you should care about a few things:

  • ■Price
    ■Reliability of support
    ■Warranty
■Cooler (Avg temps high or low?)
■Noise (For me noise is a big deal. <30db is good.)

I'd get the MSI Twin FROZR 980 graphics card, just because you already have their Z97 gaming motherboard, and I like to keep things together that look nice. But hey, you can do whatever you want here. :D

Unless you want the swag points that come with a GTX 980, go for the Gigabyte G1 970, as it is better price/performance wise and can be overclocked to nip at the heels of a 980 with that excellent cooler.
