Small mITX AMD Build Critique

Eggz

Distinguished
I'm set on mITX for my next build. It'll be an HTPC and Steam Box for the living room. I've done some Intel/Nvidia builds, and they've been great, but it's been a while since I put together an AMD build. Thoughts both ways, but the idea of switching it up seems appealing. The only snag is that I don't see any AMD mITX motherboards supporting their better CPUs (e.g. FX-9590) on the AM3+ chipset. If I do an all AMD build (or if it's possible), I'll hold off on the GPU until the next round of top cards come out. The R9 290x isn't worth buying new right now if the next flagships come out in Q1 of 2015.

For now, I have a few outlines put together on PCPartPicker. Hopefully you all can give some feedback.

Intel Ideas

Hardon Case
Here's the first of two, which are pretty much the same except for case choice (this one's in EVGA's Hadron Air):

Raven Case
This one's similar but in Silverstone's mITX Raven:

AMD Idea

Raven Case
Since I don't see an option for an AMD based CPU in the mITX form factor, I thought maybe one of these would be good once the new AMD GPUs come out. My only concern is that the PSUs on these small systems can't push more than 600 watts, which brings the current generation of R9 cards like the 290X into question (a little), but fingers crossed for better power efficiency with the next round of cards. That also eliminates the Hadron as an option because it's limited to 500w. Another concern is that there are no good blower coolers for the 290X, which would be nice for a small build like this.

The Milo ML07 is similar guts to the Raven and cheaper. I used it here

My middle school students put together a mini-ITX PC for my wife ($900 of MY money).

The Thermaltake Core V1 has interesting PSU and cooling options in a compact space.
