MSI 970A-G43 with AMD FX 8350 combo. Will it work for a couple of months?

Hi there!

So as the title says, I've made a custom build, and went for the cheap route for the motherboard, thinking that if everything fits on it, it will be ok, and I can save some money. (I was on a fixed budget).

Long story short, the CPU fan is going nuts, constantly at 4800+ rpm, making noise like a jet taking off. The temps are normal, it's just the fan that is going crazy as far as I can tell.
I've read the forums a lot, searching for a fix, and found out that the two don't mix very well, the G43 having compatibility issues with the fx8350 and that it's not suitable for such a powerful processor.

Now my questions are:
-if I leave them as they are for a couple of months, without replacing anything, will there be any problems? I use it for gaming mostly, no OC or other tweaks, and although the noise is sometimes unbearable, if there won't be any problems with any of the parts, I can take it until I save some money to buy a newer, more expensive motherboard
-if I install a Cooler Master 212 EVO fan, will it be enough instead of replacing the motherboard completely?
-or any other suggestions?

Note: I plan on using only Windows7, in case of BIOS/UEFI issues. Thanks in advance!

First, stock fans usually tend to be loud. You can find fan tuning software to adjust the fan curve, if you want.

I would definitely get a new motherboard. CPU temps won't be what you need to worry about, but rather the motherboard temps. It doesn't have to be expensive, but it has to be compatible with the 8350 and fit whatever other needs/wants you have.

with a lack of vrm heat sinks i would say replacing the board would be your best bet as soon as you can, in the mean time watch the temps more so on the vrms and socket as it doesn't technically support an fx cpu. I like the fx series and a lot of people are going to push you to switch but for the price they are a good cpu that said they need a good mobo that has vrm cooling and a decent cpu cooler

Thank you guys for your answers!

It wouldn't hurt to post my specs, just in case.

- Mobo: MSI 970A-G43
- Proc: AMD FX X8 8350, 4000MHz, 16MB, socket AM3+
- Vid Card: MSI AMD Radeon R9 270X OC Twin Frozr GAMING, 2048MB, GDDR5, 256bit, HDMI, 2x DVI, Display Port, Military Class 4
- RAM: HyperX FURY Blue 8GB (2x4GB), DDR3, 1600MHz, CL10, 1.5V
- PSU: Inter-Tech Energon 650W
- HDD: WD Black 1TB, 7200rpm, 64MB, SATA 3

I'm going to go with the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P (I've looked it up online and it's affordable and convenient) and also the 212 EVO. Knowing this, and what other parts I have, there won't be any other compatibility issues if I change the mobo, right?

I understand, thanks for your answers, ihog!
Can you list me one or two mobos in the same price range as the Gigabyte-970A-UD3P that are also compatible with my build?

Thanks guys for all your input.

So I've gone over my budget for this month, and I'll only be able to buy the 212 EVO for now.
I just want the CPU to cool down to normal temperatures and get rid of the noise.
Will this be ok for a month or two, until I can afford a new motherboard?

K, will do. No, overclocking and tweaking with the setting are out of the question, for now at least. Maybe in the future once I get more experience and confidence to start fiddling with those sort of things. Right now I'm satisfied with what it has to offer.

@Domaldel.
Like I said, I prefer to not meddle with things that I'm not sure of. I'll leave it as it is and keep an eye out for temp spikes. It's the holiday season anyway and I'll be visiting relatives and such, so the pc won't get that much " on " time like in regular days.

Thanks once again, you guys are awesome!
