4790k with MSI Z87M gaming motherboard

Hi

I'm thinking on buying a 4790k processor but have heard it's not compatible with the motherboard msi z87m gaming BIOS so is this a big issue or will i able to fix it.

If it is merely a matter of microcode then you can fix it with a BIOS or firmware update. Check on the MSI website if they claim support for the processor and if they specify a specific BIOS level and then check if the board you plan to install the processor on has that level of BIOS or can be upgraded before you install the processor.

It is sometimes possible to install the processor with a lower level of BIOS and then upgrade the BIOS, but the risk of such a procedure increases.

I didnt say it wasnt compatible I said it may need a BIOS update to support it. Theres a diff
