Whats the best 2.5" SSHD on the market. Im getting this for a laptop and SSDs cost too much for a large capacity size.
Im thinking of buying a Seagate laptop SSHD 1tb (8gb ssd cache and 5400rpm 1tb drive)
but are there any SSHDs with 7200rpm drives in them and with more than 8gb of ssd in them

Solution
a sshd with only 8gb is mostly marketing. 8gb is not enough to do much good.
Laptop drives are built for power savings and not performance. 5400rpm will be very slow.
I would look for a 7200rpm drive. If it has a ssd cache, sl much the better.

that's what im asking, what reputable companies make them. and I think 8gb would make a difference to the startup times of windows and loading for the most used files. not as much as an ssd but a significant difference between a standard hdd. at least that's what iv seen from some youtube videos

I use windows 8.1, the startup is "fast" because of the OS faststartup, but general usage is just as slow.
it is no where like my desktop seagate 2TB@7200rpm.
My notebook is same as your one probably; seagate 1TB with 8GB SSD
But your are right, there are no other choice, the SSD opt is expensive

Is there any SSHD out there that has between 20-100GB of SSD memory and between 1-5TB of storage at 7200RPM? I am currently looking for that, but do not know how to look without sifting through google's annoying "did you mean this" or "here's the result, it's close because it 'contains' your search parameters"
