GPU Seems to be Running Too Hot At Idle

My NVIDIA GTX 780 is running at around 46-50° C on idle. This only started today after dusting out my computer with compressed air. It usually runs around 25° to 30° C on idle. 45-50° C is the temperature I usually get while playing Skyrim at max with graphics enhancing mods. The only other thing that has changed is that I decided to put it on a little table next to my desk that sits about a foot lower, the table is also made out of little metal bars so that I get more air flow through the bottom. My CPU and Hard Drive still function at the normal temperatures they were before.

I honestly don't know if my GPU fans are running at the same speed, fan speed was nothing I really paid attention to before. The table doesn't obstruct any exhaust ports, as the of the computer is about a foot away from the wall and the table is made of a wire mesh, so it doesn't block the bottom of the computer. As for Skyrim it still seems to be running at 40-45° C. Out of curiosity, does setting 'Power Management Mode' to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in the NVIDIA control panel raise the idle temp? I am suspecting that might be the case.
