I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi XTreme Audio card that I have been using for 2 years and just after doing a clean install of Windows 7 I am having problems installing the driver for it. I keep receiving this message when trying to install the drivers:

I have tried using different PCI slots and I tried disabling the onboard sound in the BIOS with no luck. Does any one have any suggestions to get this working?

Solution
What is your setup?
Just off the top of my head:
1. From personal experience, I know that Creativelabs frequently links the wrong drivers to their online install packages. Make 100% sure you have the correct driver.
2. Alternatively, you can try

or

2. If it is indeed a hardware issue, maybe a motherboard BIOS flash update will do the trick, but given your description I don't see how this could be the problem. You just made changes to the OS right?

Yes, I recently flashed the BIOS and then reinstalled windows on a new SDD. After installing windows I tried to install the driver and it gave me the same issue, but I believe the drivers installed anyway because my system recognized the Creative Labs Audio Device. However, I was having some sound issues where the sound would be distorted or sometimes switch from my headset to my speakers randomly. So I decided to try and reinstall the drivers but now the install utility from Creative Labs doesn't recognize I have a sound card.

!! UPDATED:

I think you were correct about the wrong drivers on their website. I found some old drivers for the card released in 2009 and they were able to detect my card, thanks for helping out!
