Asus Z97 A and Intel Xeon e3 1230 v3 compatibility?

As the title suggests I just want to find out weather the xeon will work 'out of the box' with the asus. I have read that the BIOS may need to be updated?

Also is unbuffered non-ECC memory supported by the xeon?

Yes, CPU is supported http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97A/HelpDesk_CPU/ , no BIOS update needed.

And yes, unbuffered non-ECC memory is supported.
