Hello everyone. I am going to be buying my 1st custom-build computer for the first time & I want to be sure that there aren't any compatibility problems so I don't have to waste time sending it back to Newegg.

Here is a link to what I am planning to buy:

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=24007586

I am planning to place an order on 12/15/2014. I realize that doesn't leave much room to wait for an answer, but I tried to order by phone & was told they do not do that, and their tech support line is closed today, andI wanted to be sure that this order is shipped first thing tomorrow. Please tell me if there are any problems. Only problem I see is the PSU may not be powerful enough for the system, but wanted to check with everyone here.

Thank you for any information that can be provided.

Solution
Check prices. Newegg has a 270X for $140 and a 280 for $170. Use PCpartpicker to check options and prices.

The PSU is fine for the system, up to a 280.

I'd want 2 x 4GB of memory like the Mushkin Redline or Blackline and 1866 or 2133 speed.
Use pcpartpicker site to find better prices .

Definitely do not use that motherboard . It uses an older chip set that is not ideal for FX processors
Only use boards with a 970 or 990 chipset
The asrock 970 extreme 3 is usually cheapest board of decent quality
The Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P is the best at about $75

You cant crossfire on these boards anyway so you only need a 500 watt psu . That should let you get a 270X graphics card with the money you save

I would get a cheaper cpu cooler . Arctic cooling not so good quality anyway .
Right now there is a Xigmatek for $29 thats probably better

You did very well with your list . The parts are all compatible . I just think you can redistribute the budget and get better quality and performance

I decided to get the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P & MSI R9 270X. I am leaving the RAM the same as I wanted to have the ability to upgrade my system to 32 GB when I have some extra money. Thanks for all the answers. My apologies, but I have a few more questions. I tried calling Newegg tech support, but they want almost $50 (damn!) up front & there was no one in chat at the time of this post.

#1 The Xigmatek cooler Outlander_94 suggested had an average of 3-egg reviews & there was only one other fan but only 1 person bought it & gave a negative review. I'd rather get something that gets more positive reviews (that's why I sort items by the number of reviews) to get a good idea on how good an item is, thus I have no further problems & waste time returning it. I looked at all of Newegg's socket AM3 & AM3+ fans, and saw a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus for $29.99. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065) Given Cooler Master's excellent reputation, will this fit the case I chose and

#2 Will there be a problem with getting the ram modules in? I am thinking of getting the low-profile 8 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148661) as I think that wouldn't be a problem, but want to be sure.

I didn't see 2133 listed that the motherboard would work with. It stated that it would work with DDR3 2000(OC), 1866, 1600, 1333, & 1066. If I chose 2000, I would only get that speed if I overclock it? I never overclocked hardware before and would rather avoid that, as I feel too many things can go wrong.

Oh one more thing - If I ever decide to chat with tech support, do they charge a fee for that? When I tried to chat with someone, I wasn't prompted to pay anything, but no one was available anyway. Would be nice if they state up front that there would be a charge.

Again, if I could have a answer sometime today, that would be great.

The xigmatek usually sells for much more . Its a bargain at that price . Design is quite similar to the Hyper 212 . Direct heatpipe contact [ cm copied this from xigmatek ] , and the fan is a bigger 140 mm unit .

The memory controller is on the processor not the motherboard . Officially 1866 Mhz is supported . The board can run RAM at higher speeds because it has a BIOS that can OC the RAM . There is not any real advantage of running RAM faster . A very few games might get a tiny performance boost . Most will not
