Hello everyone, right now I'm using a 1TB WD caviar black HDD. I'm planning on upgrading to a samsung SSD 840EVO 250gb. Since on this mobo the sata III marvell controller is problematic I'm gonna use it on one of the Sata II controllers and I'm gonna use my 1TB HDD as storage hard disk.

1)Does it make any difference which of the 6 Sata II ports I use to plug my SSD? Should I avoid plugging it to the SATA2_0?

2)What are the optimal settings inside the BIOS after plugging my SSD?

Yes, AHCI is what you should choose if you aren't using RAID.

There really isn't much else you need to do with the bios settings in regards to storage.

Thx for answering, I set ahci on pch sata Ctrl mode. Should I set ahci on gsata and esata as well?

Can you suggest other bios good settings for this motherboard compared with default settings?
