if i have two gt640's but they have different memory can i still sli them?

Yes, it'll just run at the lower amount of memory.

No, the GT 640 doesn't support SLI. Also SLI does require both cards to have the same amount of vram. There use to be a workaround(coolbits) but it hasn't worked for awhile. AMDs Crossfire does allow for this but SLI does not.
