I'm planning to buy an entry level of a gaming desktop. I'm torn between these 2 CPUs and 2 GPUs. What is the better combination fr you guys?

Solution
Certainly Intel architecture is far better compared to AMD clock per clock, you need an AMD @4.0ghz to equal an Intel one @2.8Ghz (talking Vishera vs Haswell)...

Regarding cores... most games only use 1-2 cores, some use 4, but more than that is useless for gaming so no advantage there from AMD's offerings.

It would be great if you could get an i5 CPU like the i5-4670 or an i5-4690(k), but if budget is an issue the i3-4130 should be practically on par with the FX-8350 as I mentioned earlier.
With no doubt FX-8350 with any of those cards, their performance is very similar.

Also, consider going with an Intel CPU, even a i3-4130 will give you a similar performance like the FX-8350 (strictly gaming) while leaving you a nice upgrade path all the way to a i7-4690k, whereas with AMD you'll be at the top with the FX-8350, and FM2 simply doesn't have powerful CPUs for latest games (bottlenecking the most powerful GPUs out there).

Both graphics cards are similar in performance (in some games 750Ti is faster, in others the 260X). However, 750Ti uses less power, and since you did not mention which PSU you are using, I can only recommend 750Ti for graphics. As for the CPU, FX 8350 without question.

what is the ideal PSU for using R7 260x ( how many watts)

so for the latest games and incoming titles, an Intel CPU would be better? I always see the CPU's clockspeed and cores for deciding which is better, but i think now there are more factors to consider

If you wish to have upgradeable rig later, go for cheapest i3 and r9 270X if your budget allows that. Your PSU should be a quality model of at least 450W, but 550 is preferred for longevity sake and future upgrades. I am not talking cheapo PSUs here, but quality brands like Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (AX, HX, RM series), Antec and so on.

I was really going for a 500W PSU but i think spendin a little more would be wise to have a 550W. Thanks for this and im thinking of an r9

ALL games use 4 cores. We're not in 2007-2008 anymore. Most games use even more than 4 threads nowadays. Not efficiently, but still.

For best rig get the 8350 and 750 Ti. The better CPU and GPU out of them two.
