So Im embarking on the following build;

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110 94.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI Plus ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
Case: Fractal Design Define R5 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Asus BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

I'm an absolute novice at this, and whilst keen to get it built, i'm a little daunted by it. I just don't want to frak it up. Does anyone have any experience in building the above of something similar. Can you point me to any helpful videos that would assist in the build? Is there anything i should know before starting? Are there things I should do in a particular order?

Please help, as I feel like all the bits are in my lounge room and they are teasing me! I really wanna get this beast of a machine built, but i dont want to feel like I'm going in blind.

I do have a couple questions;

1 - Should I remove pre applied thermal paste and use new. In which case which ways should I apply the paste. And should it go on the Liquid Cooler plate or the CPU?

2 - Should I mount the CPU cooler on first before mounting the Motherboard?

I'm sure I will have more questions pop into my head, but these are the ones that come to mind currently.

Thanks in advance for any help

That should not really matter, I used the stock paste on the h80 and it works fine. I get 27 - 30 C idle. I would just stick with the stuff already on the heatsink. Much cleaner and more distributed around the chip. I hope this helps!

BTW if you are going to use an aftermarket thermal paste, when you clean it make sure that if you use a paper towel make sure that there are no fibers. Also apply isopropyl alcohol and wipe until its shiny and clean :)
