Hello everyone.
I've been looking to upgrade my gaming PC as I am not overly pleased with performance in the games I play (WoT, Arma 3, CS:GO primarily).
I currently have the following:
965 BE @ 4.0 Ghz
Asrock 970 Extreme4
Ati 7850 1GB
8GB Crucial 1600
120GB OCZ SSD
While most games run decently, I do experience FPS drops occasionally even at mid to high settings (Arma 3 basically dies if I go too high on settings).
Furthermore I wouldn't mind a CPU with lower power consumption.
I've been looking at the following combinations:
i3 4360
ASRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer
Gigabyte 280x 3GB
or
i5 4460
ASRock Fatal1ty B85 Killer
Gigabyte 280x 3GB
or
4670K
Asus Z97-P
Gigabyte 280x 3GB
I know full well that the last combination is by far the best option in terms performance, but seeing as I am on a budget I'd like to know if any of the cheaper options is a worthwhile upgrade. I am no opposed to AMD at all, so if there are options involving AMD I'd love to hear them. Also I don't really care about overclocking anymore - the reason why I included the 4670K is because there's too little difference between it and the non-K to really bother with the non-K. And finally the graphics-card is totally open as well - found a decent deal on the 280x but I am definitely keen on hearing other options.
Budget is $600 but I wouldn't mind it being cheaper if performance doesn't suffer much.
