I just did a new build with the i7 5820k, in an Asus X99-A board with crucial ddr4 memory (4x4gb).
Everything turns on fine even the card and the fans but I'm getting no signal and therefore I cant load my OS software onto my solid state drives.
We pulled the ram out and install just one and then all in separate spaces but still the XFX R9 280X will not connect via HDMI or DVI. We are using an EVGA 750 watt power supply.
Can anyone help me? What are we doing wrong?

But if the MB was bad all the other stuff wouldn't power up correctly would it? And if the GPU was bad that wouldn't power up either would it? The fans turn on and there is a light from it as well. Should I buy another GPU and put that one in? It says on the GPU box 750 watt or greater but I cant imagine the card takes 750 watts to run and no power for anything else since everything seems to be powered up fine.

If the EVGA PSU failed to provide enough power it would either be because it was failing or you're using that power somewhere else. Anyway you need to test the GPU in another machine, if you want to go ahead and exchange the GPU for another instead... well that works but it's not the recommended action.

A bad MB can still function... I never understand why people don't understand this, you can have parts of a MB fail requiring replacement while the whole board continues to work... that said, it was only one option and the more unlikely one at that.

Since I dont have an extra machine lying around, I just thought getting another cheap 1gb GPU will tell me if its the GPU or the MB and then I can always return to cheap GPU to my local store if I find out my answer and return either the MB or return the original GPU. I got it at a large electronics store that i can easily return the MB is its the problem.
Also thanks for the help.

I have got AsRock B75 Pro3-M motherboard and XFX R9 280A. I did get picture out in PCI-e 4x port, but not in 16x port. I just updated the latest BIOS and everything works now. I also heard that in some case dual channel caused problems so putting memory modules to non-dual channel slots might help.
