So every day I go to sleep I put my PC to standby and my WD hard drives starts to click only when it is in Standby mode , S3 I think

However , if I eject the drive from the PC , the clicking stops

Doesn't seems to be broken because I have two drives like this , both click on standby, works fine when PC is on.

Any idea , on how to disable this clicking?

Well, I guess you will need to eject it once you are done working with it.
It's not really recommended to have it plugged in constantly actually.
If you need further assistance with that, I'd suggest to contact our tech support either by phone or e-mail and let them know. They'd know if stopping the clicking during standby/sleep mode possible or not.

Good luck! Hope I helped though. :)

Hey there, Sun Mei!

I don't think there's anything to worry about with your WD My Password.
This is a normal drive sound. The hard drive clicks during a head park operation which would be the sleep mode or when it is shutting down.
If you are still concerned, I'd suggest to test the drive using Data LifeGuard Diagnostics:

You can also check this article from our knowledge base, explaining the sounds coming from WD HDDs:

If you have more questions or concerns, let me know!
Hope this helped. :)

I am not scared that it is broken , I just dont want it to keep on ticking, driving me nuts when I go to sleep since I put it in standby .

Is there a way to stop the ticking? beside ejecting in windows , and unplugging the power sources?

Thanks
