i cannot get it to work.. i have tried lots of different possibilities and still nothing.. the closest i have got is when i press the power button, the LED's come on, but if i put the power switches in them pins, nothing.. i have absolutely no idea where they can and if anyone actually replies i can show images

Front panel connectors can be tricky.
Your motherboard manual should identify the pins.
Look carefully and double check the orientation of the motherboard manual diagram with what you actually see on the motherboard.

PWR and reset are momentary switches with no polarity.
led for pwr and hdd activity do depend on polarity.
If there is no light, no harm, but just reverse the + and -.

There is always a possibility that the case has miswired the front panel leads.

To turn on the motherboard, you can use a screwdriver to momentarily touch the two pwr pins go start up.
