Hi guys am experiencing problems with my acer. Running fine until yesterday. Now at startup there are several short beeps (8 i think? will count next time) welcome screen stays on for a long time during which the user log on flashs on everynow and then. will flash several times saying incorrect password then after ten minutes of this finally stop at user login and allow me to log on... any ideas?

Knowing the exact acer model would be helpful.
In the user documentation for your computer (either in the book you should have kept with your computer or go online) they should list what those beep codes mean.
I am assuming where it asks about user login it is a bios login?
With no model specific information the first thing I would try is to replace the CMOS batter (a 2302 circle battery you can find at any store that has a selection of batteries) and follow instructions to reset CMOS.

It must be AMI as it seems it's the only BIOS that has from 1 to 11 short beeps code..
AMI BIOS Beep Codes (7 and 9 are in case you counted wrong)
7 short - Virtual mode processor exception error -- The CPU has generated an exception error because of a fault in the CPU or motherboard circuitry
8 short - Display memory read/write error -- The system video adapter is missing or defective
9 short - ROM checksum error -- The contents of the system BIOS ROM does not match the expected checksum value. The BIOS ROM is probably defective and should be replace

Hi is an Acer Aspire 5560 series... the windows user logon screen flashs now and then while stuck on the welcome screen saying password incorrect when none has been entered.. . only see it for a second then is gone... no password was entered obviously. Does this throughout welcome screen which is on for 5-10 min!!! was all working perfectly fine 2 days ago!

Strange behaviour and messages that are obviously not from the Operating System should be considered malicious and appropriate measures should be taken... So, scan with the antivirus and follow with Malwarebytes Antimalware... if they find nothing, see if the same happens with anothr user account create one for that purpose or use the administrator account... you may have to restart a couple times for the other user name to be on the logon screen when get there from the restart. See what happens and post the results.
